8月1日上午英语美文朗诵比赛，山东理工大学外国语学院“蒲公英社会实践团”为德州市武城县四女寺镇蔡村明德小学的孩子们举行“明日之星”——英语朗读比赛。此次比赛主要是三、四、五年级学生参加英语美文朗诵比赛，当地小学英语教师与实践团英语专业队员担任评委。

实践队员首先向同学们说明比赛的规则与评分准则。此次比赛共分为初赛和决赛两个阶段。初赛在各班举行英语美文朗诵比赛，由支教队员在各班选出三名同学参加决赛，决赛分年级进行。比赛内容主要分“小组朗读”与“个人朗读”两个环节。“小组朗读”环节，学生角色扮演课文中出现的角色，朗读课文内容。比赛期间，参赛选手自信满满，态度严谨，发挥稳定。即时朗读环节，学生将平时所学知识应用到实际之中，临场发挥镇定自若，现场气氛积极活跃。

参赛选手朗读完毕之后，赢得现场观众掌声。评委针对学生发音进行点评，并及时纠正部分学生的中式英语发音，为学生展示标准语音语调。同时，评委也对一些选手能够克服自身困难的品质表示表扬。
