In this article, I will introduce some of the must-visit attractions in this captivating city.
One of the most iconic landmarks in Beijing is the Great Wall of China. Spanning over 13,000 miles, it is one of the greatest architectural wonders in human history. Visiting the Great Wall allows you to not only appreciate its grandeur but also take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Mutianyu and Badaling are two popular sections of the Great Wall that are easily accessible from Beijing.
Another must-visit attraction is the Forbidden City. As the former imperial palace of China for over 500 years, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of China's rich history. Walking through the grand courtyards and intricate halls, you will be transported back in time to the days of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Forbidden City is home to countless treasures and artifacts that depict the grandeur and opulence of ancient China.
For those interested in Chinese traditional culture, the Temple of Heaven is a must-see. Built in the 15th century, it was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties held annual ceremonies to pray for good harvests. The temple complex is a masterpiece of architectural design and is surrounded by a beautiful park where locals gather to practice tai chi, play traditional instruments, and engage in various recreational activities.
No trip to Beijing is complete without experiencing the vibrant street life. Wangfujing Street, one of the most famous shopping streets in Beijing, offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, and street food stalls. Here, you can indulge in traditional Beijing snacks such as jianbing (savory pancake), lamb skewers, and fried dumplings. The lively atmosphere and delicious food make Wangfujing Street a favorite among both locals and tourists.

Exploring the Hutongs of Beijing
When visiting Beijing, one cannot miss exploring the traditional hutong neighborhoods that offer a glimpse into the city's rich history and local culture. In this article, I will introduce the charm of Beijing's hutongs and some of the best ways to explore them.
Hutongs are narrow alleyways or streets that are typically formed by traditional courtyard houses known as siheyuan. These neighborhoods date back hundreds of years and were once the heart of Beijing's social and cultural life. Today, they serve as a window into the city's past, showcasing its traditional architecture and way of life.
One of the best ways to explore the hutongs is by taking a rickshaw ride. Sitting in a traditional rickshaw, you can leisurely navigate through the narrow streets while enjoying the sights and sounds of the bustling neighborhoods. The rickshaw drivers often serve as guides, sharing interesting stories and historical facts about the hutongs.
Another popular way to experience the hutongs is by taking a walking tour. Many tour companies offer guided tours that take you deep into the maze-like alleyways, allowing you to discover hidden gems and interact with the local residents. Walking tours provide a more intimate experience, as you can observe the daily life of the locals, visit local markets, and even try your hand at traditional crafts such as paper cutting or calligraphy.
For those who prefer a more immersive experience, staying in a traditional courtyard hotel in the hutongs is highly recommended. These boutique hotels are often converted from old siheyuan and offer a unique blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. By staying in a hutong hotel, you can fully immerse yourself in the local culture, enjoy authentic Beijing cuisine, and experience the tranquility of the courtyard gardens.
Exploring the hutongs also means indulging in the local cuisine. These neighborhoods are home to numerous hidden gems where you can savor traditional Beijing dishes such as Peking duck, hot pot, and dumplings. The narrow alleyways are filled with small family-run restaurants and street food stalls, offering a wide range of flavors and tastes.
In conclusion, the hutongs of Beijing offer a unique and authentic experience for travelers. Whether you choose to explore them by rickshaw, on foot, or by staying in a traditional courtyard hotel, the hutongs will give you a glimpse into the city's rich history and local culture. So, don't miss the opportunity to wander through these charming neighborhoods and create lasting memories of your visit to Beijing.

There will be a speech on our school playground this Saturday afternoon, whose theme is “To civilize schoolyard is my responsibility”. All the teachers and students are required to attend.
In the activity, the first two winners in each grade will give such valuable advice as follows: we should not litter anywhere in order to keep our campus clean; we should love flowers, grass and trees so that everyone can enjoy the greenness; we should behave well instead of running after one another, quarreling and fighting noisily; we should care for others so that our school will be full of love. We believe our school will become more and more beautiful and peaceful.
